Julie Bell-Zinn
My journey with art has definitely been an interesting adventure. Having a mom who is an artist and high school art teacher has its pros and cons. I was always expected to have knowledge on all topics of art and had high expectations on the outcome for my artworks. In comparison, I have also always had all the help I could ever ask for with an art project with open arms. This has greatly influenced my art as I was growing up. Always being surrounded by my mom’s work has inspired me to find my own style.
I have taken many art classes throughout high school and college so far, and it has been so interesting to learn different techniques, with different forms of art. I have done painting, and drawings, and I have now started doing many types of printmaking. For my latest works, I have chosen to have my work reflect myself. I am having every piece have a similar aspect of each of my tattoos. I think that this way of having my self expression depicted in my artwork, has shown me how other people may see my style.
